Hairstyles For Gray Hair

Hairstyles For Gray Hair

Like the rest of the body, hair changes as we get older. Usually, gray hair is a bit thinner than what you once had, and it has stiffer strands, making gray hair a bit more delicate than the hair you once had. There are plenty of great hairstyles for those with gray hair, however. You are not doomed to a head full of straw or the exact same hairstyle as everyone else.

If you want to wear your gray hair long, keep in mind that long gray hair has a tendency to be extremely limp and thin. On most people, that would look extremely unflattering. If you want to keep it basic yet pretty, a classic bun is a good idea for long gray hair. Another great idea that will add a bit of pizzazz to your hairstyle is to wear your hair in a French braid or a French twist. Your hair will be up and out of the way, while still looked classy and gorgeous.

Most of the hairstyles for short hair are shorter styles that take into account the fact that gray hair is often thinning and stiff. Pixie cuts can be great, as can bobs. You really should avoid the styles that are super short and curly. These “helmet” styles are very unflattering on anyone of any age; only wear these if you prefer to look about twenty years older than you actually are. Layered hairstyles, short or long, are excellent choices for gray hair. These styles make you look much younger and they add depth, shape, and volume to your hairstyle. They can help bring out your best features – such as your chin and cheekbones – and help to reduce the appearance of saggy skin that some people get as they age.
